LOS ANGELES BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVE PLANS FOR TERMINAL 1.5; NEW FACILITY WILL ENHANCE GUEST EXPERIENCE, CONNECT TERMINALS 1 AND 2
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved environmental and aesthetic plans related to the proposed Terminal 1.5 Project, which would enhance the guest experience at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by providing additional space for ticketing, security screening, and baggage claim, along with connecting Terminals 1 and 2.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS REACHES ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR PROGRAM DESIGNED TO RELIEVE TRAFFIC CONGESTION AT LAX
(Los Angeles, California – December 1, 2016) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) took the first formal step in the procurement process for design and construction of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Consolidated Rent-A-Car Center (ConRAC) with the release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ).  The deadline to submit Statements of Qualifications is at 2 p.m. PT on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

(Los Angeles, California – November 28, 2016)  Passengers, visitors and workers traveling to/from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) between 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, are advised to plan ahead and expect traffic congestion because of a scheduled labor demonstration by Service Employees International Union 721, Janitors for Justice, and Fight for 15, in support of a nation-wide day of protest.

RECORD NUMBER OF TRAVELERS TO USE LAX THIS THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY
A desire to take to the skies to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends is driving a record number of airline ticket sales for travel to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  It’s expected that 2.3 million travelers will pass through the airport this Thanksgiving holiday travel period – an increase of 8.4 percent over last year’s record 2.1 million passengers.

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HOSTS OVER 700 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT FIRST AVIATION CAREER DAY

(Los Angeles, California – November 9, 2016)  Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials welcomed more than 700 local high school students to the first annual LAX Aviation Career Day on Wednesday, Nov. 9.  The event, hosted by LAX’s Community Relations Division, focused on giving students the opportunity to discover careers in the aviation field and showcasing aviation-related companies that offer entry-level jobs to high school graduates.
