Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) guests flying out of Terminals 7 and 8 may reserve a time at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening area through a new pilot program called LAX Fast Lane.
Participation in the LAX Fast Lane pilot is optional, and free for all travelers using Terminals 7 and 8. The service provides the same high standard of security as all TSA lanes, although guests who participate in other trusted traveler programs, such as TSA PreCheck®, will not be able to use their benefits in the dedicated lane.
Reservations and walk-in appointments are available for departing and general
screening
passengers daily from
- 5:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the TSA checkpoint for Terminal 7*
*Appointment availability is limited, reserve your spot early to get the appointment time. The LAX Fast Lane pilot is currently not available outside of the operating hours listed above.
How it works:
- Sign up in advance up to 3 days before your flight or when you arrive to the airport at the ticketing level of the terminal.
- Select the airline you're flying with, destination, and flight number along with your name, number of people in your party, and contact information to save your spot.
- When it is time for your appointment, go to your assigned checkpoint and look for the LAX Fast Lane logo or use our interactive map for step-by-step directions.
- Show airport staff your confirmation of your appointment and go through screening.

The LAX Fast Lane pilot program allows guests to schedule a specific time for their TSA security screening. The LAX Fast Lane pilot has its own dedicated lane at the TSA Checkpoints, reducing the wait time for those who participate. All you need to do is reserve your time and show up at your assigned checkpoint at your appointment time.
The LAX Fast Lane pilot is only for guests traveling from
Terminals 7 and 8. The program is available between:

The LAX Fast Lane pilot program is optional for departing passengers. Connecting passengers do not have to use it if they are remaining in Terminals 7 or 8, or using the corridors beyond screening from/to reach Terminals 2, 4, 5, 6 or Tom Bradley. Passengers who are connecting to a Southwest or United Airlines flight from other terminals and must be screened at Terminal 7 can use LAX Fast Lane.
No, the LAX Fast Lane pilot is only available to general
screening passengers to help
provide a better screening experience for those without
a trusted traveler program and
create efficiency where we have the highest demand.
All TSA PreCheck passengers should be screened at their
designated checkpoint in to
order still use their PreCheck benefits. All CLEAR
customers can go to their dedicated
lane at each security checkpoint as well to have their
expedited experience. Members of
expedited programs can still use LAX Fast Lane if they
want to, but they will need to
follow general screening practices.
Yes, it’s completely free for all passengers flying from Terminals 7 and 8. There is no account or membership required to use LAX Fast Lane at Terminal 7.
The LAX Fast Lane pilot has limited appointments available, to ensure an expedited process for those who participate. We recommend trying to reserve your time as early as possible. Reservations can be made up to 3 days before your flight. Reservations are available 240 to 60 minutes before the scheduled flight time.
Yes. When you arrive at the airport, you will see the LAX Fast Lane pilot signs. Scan the QR code with your smartphone to set up an appointment or you can book here to find the next available appointment slot.
We offer a grace period of 30 minutes per appointment time, so you may arrive any time during the appointment window and enter the line. If you arrive more than 30 minutes past your appointment time, it would be best to reschedule your appointment (based on availability), or you may enter through the regular queue lanes.
Yes. Passengers traveling with a group may book on behalf of the other passengers in their traveling party by specifying the total party size in the booking process. The maximum group size eligible to enter the LAX Fast Lane pilot under one appointment is 10 passengers.
There is no account registration or login required. Passengers utilizing the service will be asked to select the date of departure, destination airport, airline, flight number and party size. Lastly, they will be asked to provide an email to receive the appointment confirmation with the QR code as an attachment.
Yes. After you’ve made your initial appointment you will be able to access the confirmation email which contains a button to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
When signing up make sure that your email is typed correctly and to check your email's junk or spam folders. If you're still unable to find your appointment information after registering you can sign up again for another appointment.

At this time, flights outside of these hours are currently unavailable for booking. Time slots are limited and may book up fast so we recommend booking up to 3 days in advance of your flight. Appointments are available from 240 to 60 minutes before departure.
