-- AIRPORT TRAFFIC ADVISORY -- TRAFFIC DELAYS EXPECTED NEAR LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California – August 25, 2007) This is a reminder that airline passengers and airport workers are advised to expect some traffic delays and allot extra time driving to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) during this weekend, August 25 and 26, due to commercial film production continuing from last weekend on Interstate 105 (I-105 Century Freeway) and Imperial Highway near the airport.

LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT EMPLOYEES AND LOCAL VOLUNTEERS COME TOGETHER TO BEAUTIFY AFTER-SCHOOL FACILITY USED BY CHILDREN IN NEED
(Ontario, California -- August 17, 2007) Employees at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) partnered with United We Paint and local volunteers to re paint and landscape a local community center used by the Hero Club (Homework Enrichment and Recreational Outreach). On August 23, airport employees and volunteers will use gallons of paint and dozens of paint brushes to enhance the facility. Improvements will also be made on the center’s landscaping.

(Los Angeles, California – August 16, 2007) Airline passengers and airport workers are advised that they should expect intermittent delays and allot extra time driving to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) during the next two weekends, August 18 and 19, and August 25 and 26, due to commercial film production on Interstate 105 (I-105 Century Freeway) near the airport.

LAX operations were normal with the exception of a handful of international flights experiencing departure delays because of late arrivals Saturday. So far, only five of 165 scheduled international flights at LAX today are planned to be late departing and no flights are canceled through the remainder of the day. An estimated 35,000 passengers are booked on today's departing international flights. The CBP computer system is functioning normally and reported stable. LAWA airfield operations is focused on ensuring adequate busing coverage for the duration of the day and believes it can meet airline demand.

--MEDIA ADVISORY-- MULTI-AGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTION AT LOS ANGELES AIRPORT ENHANCES PUBLIC SAFETY FOR USERS OF GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Multi-agency inspection operation is currently underway at LAX with unannounced inspections of commercial ground transportation vehicles (limousines, taxis, shuttle vans, etc). Inspections of commercial vehicles include both mechanical and administrative processes. Los Angeles Airport Police Ground Transportation Enforcement Unit, California Public Utilities Commission and Los Angeles World Airports Landside Operations are concentrating on proper licensing (PUC permits and valid driver’s licenses), airport operating permits, and other law enforcement-related issues. The California Highway Patrol is concentrating on braking systems, passenger restraints and other safety systems required to be in good working order.
