LAWA APPOINTS NEW CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER; ANNOUNCES ROLE AND RESONSIBILITY CHANGES OF CURRENT EXECUTIVES
(Los Angeles, California – November 4, 2016)  Robert L. Gilbert has been appointed Chief Development Officer for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).  Gilbert’s appointment was announced today by LAWA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Deborah Flint.  In his position, Gilbert will be responsible for leading and coordinating the planning and delivery of all elements of the LAWA capital program, including the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVES ADVERTISEMENT OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR PRELIMINARY WORK ON LANDSIDE ACCESS MODERNIZATION PROGRAM
(Los Angeles, California – November 3, 2016)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners voted unanimously today to allow the advertisement of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects to be done in support of and in preparation for the $5.5-billion Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Hernandez, who was killed in the line of duty on November 1, 2013.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR IMPLEMENTING LA CITY’S GOOD FOOD PURCHASING POLICY AT FOOD DAY EVENT
(Los Angeles, California – October 21, 2016) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) will be recognized for using the city’s Good Food Purchasing Policy (GFPP) at the City’s Food Day 2016 event.  The GFPP is a procurement policy that supports environmental sustainability, fair labor, animal welfare, nutrition, and investments in the local economy.  The event will be held at City Hall’s Council Chambers and South Lawn on Tuesday, October 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR LAX LANDSIDE ACCESS MODERNIZATION PROGRAM DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT EXTENDED TO NOV. 15
(Los Angeles, California – October 18, 2016) In response to community requests, the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) has been extended 15 days to November 15, 2016.  Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) released the DEIR on September 15. The comment period was originally scheduled for 45 days.

MANDATED IMPROVEMENTS TO BEGIN ON FINAL RUNWAY AT LAX; THREE OF FOUR RUNWAYS NOW COMPLETED
(Los Angeles, California – October 17, 2016)  Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) announced today that it has now completed mandatory improvements to its third runway, 6R/24L, which reopened to full length this morning.  Improvements on the fourth and final runway, 7L/25R are scheduled to begin October 22.
