QANTAS UNVEILS NEW AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE, ENGINEERING FACILITY AT LAX
(Los Angeles, California – January 27, 2017) Qantas today unveiled its new $30-million maintenance and engineering facility at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  It is one of the largest commercial hangars in North America and the first specifically designed to accommodate the Airbus A380.

TRAFFIC-IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AT LAX BEGINS TODAY SHUTTLES FOR LAX PARKING LOT C, HOTELS AND PRIVATE PARKING LOTS TO USE SINGLE ROADWAY LEVEL
A new traffic-improvement program began today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  A new Single-Level Busing operation will redirect the drop-off and pick-up for hotel and private parking facility shuttles, as well as the LAX shuttle bus for Parking Lot C, to one roadway level in the Central Terminal Area (CTA).

– MEDIA ADVISORY – WATER SERVICE RESTORED AT TERMINAL 5 FOLLOWING REPAIR OF CRACKED MAIN
All operations have returned to normal inside Terminal 5 at LAX. The excavated area around the affected water main has been filled and patched, and motorists are again able to use the curb lane in front of Terminal 5 on the Lower/Arrivals Level to pick up and drop off passengers.

– MEDIA ADVISORY – LAX PASSENGERS TRAVELING OUT OF TERMINAL 5 ADVISED TO ALLOW FOR EXTRA TIME
Restrooms have reopened inside Terminal 5 at LAX ending an outage caused by a hairline crack in a water main located under the curb lane in front of the terminal on the Lower/Arrivals Level. The crack was discovered just after 10:30 a.m. today.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS TO WORK WITH SANTA MONICA BAY RESTORATION AUTHORITY TO KEEP LAX DUNES HABITAT HEALTHY
(Los Angeles, California – January 10, 2017)  Demonstrating its continued commitment to environmental stewardship, the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) today approved a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Authority (SMBRA) to continue habitat maintenance and restoration efforts in a 48-acre northern portion of the LAX Dunes.

(Los Angeles, California – January 9, 2017)  Motorists heading to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) during the next two weeks are advised that one direction of Imperial Highway will be fully closed at Aviation Boulevard near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) due to Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) work on the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

WEATHER ELSEWHERE IN THE U.S. CAUSING SOME FLIGHT DELAYS DURING HOLIDAY TRAVEL DAY AT LAX
(Los Angeles, California – December 27, 2016) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials report winter weather in parts of the U.S. is causing some flight delays, but few cancellations.  From midnight to noon airlines are reporting 43 arrival delays, 23 departure delays, 2 arrival and 0 departure flight cancellations.

FEWER FLIGHT DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS DURING ANOTHER BUSY HOLIDAY TRAVEL DAY AT LAX
(Los Angeles, California – December 26, 2016) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials report another busy day today at LAX with more than 1800 flight operations and nearly 234,000 passengers. From noon to midnight there have been a reported 81 arrival delays, 50 departure delays, 1 arrival and 3 departure flight cancellations.
