LAWA RECEIVES ITS FIRST HYBRID-ELECTRIC VEHICLE HONDA INSIGHT ADDS TO FLEET OF MORE THAN 235 ALTERNATIVE-FUEL VEHICLES

AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS SIGN PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT; POTENTIALLY COVERS ALL MAJOR CONSTRUCTION FOR NEXT 10 YEARS

ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PICKS UP ADDITIONAL DAILY SERVICE TO ATLANTA

--MEDIA ALERT-- ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ONT) WILL HOLD ITS FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) MANDATED EMERGENCY RESPONSE DISASTER DRILL

WHAT:

Ontario International Airport (ONT) will hold its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated emergency response disaster drill. The full-scale disaster drill complies with the FAA's Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139, which requires FAA certificated airports to hold this exercise at least once every three years. ONT holds the full-scale exercise annually.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS APPOINTS CHERE LOTT NEW PROPERTY BUREAU CHIEF
(Los Angeles, California – April 28, 2000) Chere D. Lott has been appointed Property Bureau Chief of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). In her new position, Lott is responsible for developing and maintaining cargo and maintenance facilities, passenger terminals, and office and warehouse space; negotiating and issuing leases, licenses, easements, rights-of-way, and other contracts involving the use of airport property; advising senior management on real estate matters; and representing LAWA before various tenant groups, including airlines and other lease holders.

FIRST PYLON FOR NEW LANDMARK SERIES OF COLUMNS TO BE INSTALLED PLACEMENT OF PART OF THE FIRST SYMBOLIC GATEWAY PYLON MARKS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA
WHAT: As part of the major, $112-million "LAX Gateway Enhancement Project," a 114-foot tall metal skeleton truss of the first gateway pylon will be hoisted into place on LAX property after midnight. This milestone sets the stage for construction of the additional pylons during the upcoming weeks. Constructed of translucent glass encircling a metal truss and towering at 100 feet tall and 12 feet in diameter, 15 pylons will form a ring at the intersection of Century and Sepulveda Boulevards. In addition, a series of smaller pylons ranging from 25 feet to 60 feet high and 6 feet in diameter will be constructed along the Century Boulevard median from Aviation to Sepulveda Boulevards. Once in place, this new landmark series of columns signifying the entrances into the airport will be lighted and provide Los Angeles with a portal for the future. The airport will be identified through 32-foot-high letters "L-A-X" to be located at the intersection of Century and Sepulveda Boulevards.
