ROSENDAHL, HAHN, AIRPORT POLICE HONOR FALLEN OFFICER
 ( Los Angeles , California – May 2, 2009)  In recognition of Airport Police Officer Tommy Edward Scott’s heroic service to the City of Los Angeles, Councilmembers Bill Rosendahl and Janice Hahn joined local officials and friends and family members of the fallen officer to name a portion of Lincoln Boulevard in his memory.

ALLEGIANT AIR INAUGURATES FIRST FLIGHTS FROM LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX) AIRLINE CELEBRATES WITH FARES AS LOW AS $29* ONE-WAY

(Los Angeles, California – May 1, 2009)  Low-cost airline, Allegiant Air, LLC, a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT,) will soon inaugurate nonstop service from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to 13 of America’s “favorite” small cites beginning Friday, May 1.  To celebrate, the low-cost airline is offering special fares to/from LAX starting at $29*one-way. 

With the launch of this new service, the low-fare airline will provide the onlynonstop, low-cost service to the following cities from LAX (listed in chronological order):

  • Medford , Ore. – Service begins May 1

TRAFFIC ADVISORY -- LAX ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND LINCOLN BOULEVARD
(Los Angeles, California - April 30, 2009) The southbound lanes of Lincoln Boulevard leading to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be closed Saturday, May 2 between Manchester Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard. The closure will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. due to a street dedication ceremony honoring fallen Los Angeles Airport Police Officer Tommy E. Scott.

LAWA STATEMENT REGARDING SWINE FLU PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
"Los Angeles World Airports officials stated today that reasonable precautions are being taken at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) as more cases of swine flu in the United States were confirmed by federal health officials over the weekend.  Airport custodians, who normally clean and sanitize restrooms twice an hour in LAX’s five terminals where incoming international flights are processed, are paying additional attention to sanitizing door knobs, handrails and faucets on a regular basis.  In addition, public education signs with general tips on preventing the spread of illnesses -- that are regularly posted throughout the airport during regular flu season -- are being re-posted.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS HOSTS FIFTH ANNUAL NATIONAL AVIATION AIR QUALITY CONFERENCE
    (Los Angeles – April 27, 2009)  Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) will host the American Association of Airport Executives’ (AAAE) Fifth Annual Aviation Air Quality Conference being held April 29 - May 1 at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.  The annual AAAE Air Quality Conference is the preeminent aviation air quality conference for the U.S. aviation industry.

CONTRACT AWARDS MOVE LAX DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FORWARD
(Los Angeles, California – April 21, 2009)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded two contracts that will move the LAX development Program forward.  The first contract for $10,978,000 was awarded to Walsh Austin Joint Venture, Los Angeles for construction manager at risk pre-construction services.  These services will be provided for the Bradley West Gates, a component of the overall Tom Bradley International Terminal Modernization Project.  Pre-construction services may consist of risk assessment, construction phasing, cost and budget estimating, and mitigation recommendations, among others.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY - - SOUTHBOUND SEPULVEDA TUNNEL PARTIALLY CLOSED
(Los Angeles, California – April 17, 2009) The southbound Sepulveda Tunnel will close lanes 2 and 3 today starting at 9 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. Lane 1 will remain open. Motorists exiting Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) will not have access to Sepulveda Boulevard and the eastbound I-105 onramp.

NEW 12,700-SQUARE FOOT - REFRIGERATION UNIT OPENS AT LAX; LOS ANGELES IS BECOMING NEW HUB FOR FLOWER INDUSTRY SUPPLY CHAIN
    (Los Angeles, California—April 2, 2009) Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa was joined by officials from Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Mercury Air Group, Inc., to announce today the opening of a 12,700-square-foot refrigeration facility at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).  The refrigeration unit is the largest at any West Coast airport and is expected to facilitate the expansion of the local flower trade and reduce local consumer costs for flowers.
