FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION CONFIRMS PHASE 2 OF RUNWAY STATUS LIGHTS PROJECT AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced today they are moving forward on the second phase of the Runway Status Lights (RWSL) project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HOLDS AIRPORT EMERGENCY EXERCISE
(Ontario, Calif. – April 11, 2012) – Emergency responders gathered at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) for Air Exercise (AIREX) 2012, an unrehearsed, table-top exercise designed to test how agencies coordinate efforts during an aircraft emergency.  The exercise is required under Federal Aviation Administration regulations to evaluate the capabilities of interagency coordination among various agencies responsible for responding to an aircraft or other incident at ONT.

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PUTS THE “L.A. BACK INTO LAX” WITH 60 NEW DINING AND SHOPPING OPTIONS OPENING THIS YEAR

PUBLIC MEETINGS SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS REVISED NOTICE OF PREPARATION OF DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR LAX NORTHSIDE PLAN UPDATE
(Los Angeles. California – April 5, 2012)  Two public scoping meetings are scheduled by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) during April to discuss a Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report for Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Northside Plan Update (Project).

TRAVEL ADVISORY
Due to high wind conditions in Texas, the Federal Aviation Administration reports it enacted a traffic management program at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), resulting in arrival and departure delays at LAX of up to three hours.  Among three LAX airlines serving DFW:  four departures and two arrivals are delayed. Five departures to DFW and three arrivals from DFW have been cancelled.  LAX Airport Operations does not anticipate any congestion in the terminals.

LAX GATEWAY PYLONS TO GO DARK IN SUPPORT OF INTERNATIONAL EARTH HOUR

WHAT:            The 100-foot-tall LAX Gateway pylons that illuminate the entrance to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will light solid green one hour before Earth Hour on Saturday, March 31.  Then, during Earth Hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., the pylons will be turned off as part of a coordinated worldwide effort to raise public awareness of climate change and the need for energy conservation.

TURKISH AIRLINES CELEBRATES ONE YEAR OF SERVICE AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH LAUNCH OF DAILY FLIGHTS

NEW LAX PASSENGER OUTREACH CAMPAIGN UNVEILED “REFLECTIONS” CAMPAIGN TO INFORM PASSENGERS ABOUT ONGOING AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS

(Los Angeles, California- March 22, 2012) On the heels of the recent launch of the public education outreach program, branded “LAneXt ™, ” today Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey joined customer service employees and volunteers to unveil a new, in-terminal passenger communications effort at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

            The “Reflections” campaign features a series of airport stakeholders (travelers, police officer, pilot, construction worker) with reflective surfaces such as sunglasses, windows and binoculars.  The “future” of LAX is reflected in the various surfaces.

AIRPORT POLICE DIGNITARY PROTECTION UNIT TO BE RECOGNIZED AT BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS MEETING
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners will recognize the Los Angeles Airport Police Dignitary Protection Unit (DPU) for their leadership, professionalism, expertise and dedication to protecting dignitaries arriving at and departing from Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA’s) three airports.  The Board’s action will occur during its regularly scheduled public meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012, in LAWA’s Clifton A. Moore Administration Building.
