LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS SEEKS EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR MANAGEMENT, OPERATION OF LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
  Los Angeles World Airports has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the management and operation of LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT), located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the Inland Empire.  Submissions are due by 4 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2011.  The EOI is available at   www.labavn.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=contract.doc_list&contractid=10842&recordid=10842&page=0&CFID=740034&CFTOKEN=32975887 .

NEW LAX TERMINAL ART EXHIBIT WELCOMES PASSENGERS TO LOS ANGELES
(Los Angeles, California – December 29, 2010)  Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs continues to expand its commitment to commission and exhibit large-scale artworks with the unveiling of Oratorio at the End of a Black Rainbow ,two tapestry-like paintings totaling over 55-feet wide and over nine feet high at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in Terminal 1 on the Lower/Arrivals Level by Los Angeles artist Marshall Roemen.

LAX TRAVEL ADVISORY DUE TO EXPECTED HEAVY STORM CONDITIONS
Due to expected heavy storm conditions over Southern California the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 22 -- as well as winter weather conditions across the nation -- officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) advise passengers to check with their airlines (by phone or by visiting the airlines' websites) to ensure their flights are on time before coming to the airport.  Passengers should also allow extra time for expected slower traffic conditions on local freeways and roads.

HOLIDAY PASSENGER LEVEL AT LAX EXPECTED TO INCREASE 1.3 PERCENT TO NEARLY 3 MILLION
Passenger volume at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) is expected to increase over 1.3 percent this upcoming holiday travel period to nearly 2.9 million passengers compared to last year’s holiday.  The holiday travel period begins this Friday, Dec. 17, and continues through Sunday, January 2.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS APPOINTED AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

           Rondinella has management responsibility for the new Airport Response Coordination Center, as well as day-to-day activities of Airside Operations and Landside Operations.

FINAL ADVISORY ON SEPULVEDA TUNNEL TRAFFIC COLLISION

Final update on traffic collision that caused closure of the Sepulveda tunnel adjacent to Los Angeles International Airport, issued at 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1:

 

The Sepulveda tunnel adjacent to LAX is now fully open and traffic is flowing in both directions.
