(Los Angeles, California – January 25, 2011)  The first-ever “Sunday Morning Coffee”  for plane spotters, aviation enthusiasts and the general public is scheduled on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, from 8:30 am to 11 a.m. on the Observation Deck atop the iconic Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT REPORTS 2010 PASSENGER LEVEL UP 4.5 PERCENT OVER 2009; AIR CARGO UP 15.8 PERCENT

Villaraigosa and airport officials today cheered the recent announcement by Air China that the airline will add a second daily flight between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Beijing beginning Sept. 1, 2011.  The added daily service is expected to generate millions of dollars in annual economic impact and sustain several thousand local jobs.

KOREAN AIR TO INTRODUCE AIRBUS A380 SUPER JUMBO SERVICE BETWEEN SEOUL AND LOS ANGELES IN OCTOBER
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa cheered the announcement today that Korean Air will begin air service with Airbus A380 super jumbo aircraft between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seoul-Incheon International Airport on Oct. 1, 2011.  Los Angeles will be Korean Air’s only destination on the U.S. West Coast when the airline introduces its A380 service worldwide beginning this spring to five major cities.

LAX SEEKS PERMISSION FROM FAA TO USE PASSENGER FACILITY FEES TO HELP FUND LENNOX SCHOOL DISTRICT SOUNDPROOFING PROGRAM

LOS ANGELES BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT

Airport Commissioners (BOAC) today elected attorney Michael A. Lawson as its president for term ending June 30, 2011.  Lawson has served on the Board for more than five years.  He  heads the Employee Benefits Group at the Los Angeles office of Skadden Arps LLP, where he works on all facets of employee compensation issues.
