LAX RUNWAY SAFETY AREA CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AWARDED
(Los Angeles, CA – January 15, 2015) Los Angeles Board of Commissioners today approved a $25,245,000 contract to Griffith/Coffman Joint Venture for the Runway 6L-24R Safety Area Rehabilitation Project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), signaling the start of a three-year runway construction project at LAX.

20-YEAR LEASE APPROVED FOR PROUD BIRD RESTAURANT PROPERTY AT LAX
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved a 20-year lease with Runway Two-Five Corporation (RTFC) for restaurant, banquet and meeting facilities at 11022 Aviation Boulevard.  RTFC currently leases the property operating as The Proud Bird Restaurant.

LAX MODERNIZATION UPDATE: JANUARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS MAY CAUSE PASSENGER IMPACTS
(Los Angeles, California – December 31, 2014) Major construction projects continue at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and will continue to impact travelers during the month of January.  Sidewalk closures, roadway lane closures, and in-terminal construction, may slow passenger flow in the airport’s Central Terminal Area. These construction efforts, part of the multi-billion-dollar capital improvement modernization program underway throughout LAX, will ultimately result in a more modern and efficient airport that provides a much improved customer experience.

ART INSTALLATIONS FEATURE LOS ANGELES’ DIVERSE PLACES AND POPULATIONS, AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California – December 29, 2014) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs announces two new art installations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) of mixed-media works and video inspired by the geographic and cultural fabric of Los Angeles. Street Wise, a collaborative photography and painting installation by artists Robbie Conal and Deborah Ross and guest curated by Elizabeta Betinski, is on view for the public in Terminal 6, Ticketing Level, through April 2015. Somewhere in Between: Los Angeles, a solo video exhibition by Bia Gayotto is on view for the public in Terminal 3, Ticketing Level, through April 2015

LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YEAR-TO-DATE PASSENGER VOLUME CONTINUES TO SHOW GROWTH
(Ontario, California – December 26 , 2014)   Passenger numbers atLA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) rose 4.05% from January 2014 through November 2014, compared to the same period last year. ONT airlines served3,768,098 travelers compared to 3,621,595 travelers during the same period in 2013.  Passenger numbers were up 3.41% for the month of November, marking the eighth straight month of passenger volume growth.

$961-MILLION CONTRACT AWARDED TO BUILD MIDFIELD SATELLITE CONCOURSE/NORTH AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
 (Los Angeles, California – December 18, 2014)  Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded a $961,270,169 contract to Turner | PCL, A Joint Venture in association with Corgan\Gensler, to Design-Build the Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) North Project. This project is the next significant effort in the ongoing modernization of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and will benefit the public by helping to mitigate flight delays and improve the customer experience at the airport. -- TRAFFIC ADVISORY NEAR LAX – NIGHTTIME GAS LINE INSTALLATION ON CENTURY BOULEVARD NEAR LAX TO RESTRICT TRAFFIC LANES BEGINNING TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17
 Officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are advising motorists that the Southern California Gas Company will begin nighttime construction of new underground gas service two nights this week from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. starting tonight, December 17 and on Thursday, December 18.  Motorists are advised that Century Boulevard west of Airport Boulevard will be reduced from four lanes to one lane in both directions on an alternating basis each night.

NEARLY THREE MILLION PASSENGERS EXPECTED AT LAX DURING HOLIDAY SEASON; AIRLINE INDUSTRY PREDICTS LAX WILL BE SECOND BUSIEST U.S. AIRPORT THIS HOLIDAY
 Airport officials forecast that nearly 2.97 million passengers will pass through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) this upcoming holiday travel season, a 4.1 percent increase over last year’s 2.85 million actual passengers.  The 14-day holiday travel period begins Friday, December 19, and continues through Friday, January 2, 2015.

ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT “HOLIDAY HEROES” BRING SMILES AND TOYS TO LOCAL CHILDREN FROM DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES
WHAT:            Ontario International Airport (ONT) will host its annual “Holiday Heroes” celebration for approximately 100 young students. The students, from theOntario/Montclair YMCA,will be treated to a special holiday feast donated by Delaware North Company, a guest appearance by “Tremor” of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, and a special visit from Santa Claus who will arrive in a City of Ontario Police Department helicopter. Each student will receive a new gift-wrapped toy. All toys for the event were donated by airport employees, on-site companies (e.g. airlines, car rentals, concessions, etc.), and local organizations.
