The busy summer travel season is upon us, with nearly 811,000 travelers
expected to pass through LAX this Memorial Day weekend and 24.6 million
passengers expected during the summer travel season that runs through
Labor Day.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY NEAR LAX: WEEKEND STREET RE-SURFACING NEAR LAX TO IMPACT TRAFFIC
(Los Angeles, California – May 15, 2015) Officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are advising motorists that street re-surfacing activity near the airport this weekend is expected to impact traffic.
On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services will apply slurry seal to Westchester Parkway between Pershing Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard.

GARCETTI SIGNS AGREEMENT TO FINALIZE STORMWATER PROJECT TO PROTECT SANTA MONICA BAY AND ADDRESS DROUGHT
(Los Angeles, California) Mayor Eric Garcetti today signed an agreement finalizing an estimated $40-million stormwater treatment project that will clean polluted LAX runoff before it is released into Santa Monica Bay. An average of 100 million gallons of water a year will also be recharged into the city's groundwater basin through this project, adding to L.A.'s effort to address the historic drought.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: METRO CONSTRUCTION MAY IMPACT TRAFFIC NEAR LAX
(Los Angeles, California – May 4, 2015) Officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are advising motorists that Metro’s construction activity near the airport may impact traffic.
Metro will begin implementing intermittent nightly closures for four weeks, beginning Tuesday, April 5, along with two full weekend closures (and the possibility of a third, if needed) for eastbound and westbound traffic on Imperial Highway at Aviation Boulevard.

LAX GATEWAY PYLONS TO BE LIT GREEN IN SUPPORT OF EARTH DAY 2015
The 100-foot-tall LAX Gateway pylons that illuminate the main entrance to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be lit in various shades of green in support of Earth Day 2015, which occurs on Wednesday, April 22.
