ADDITIONAL PARKING STRUCTURE, METERED PARKING REOPEN AT LAX
(Los Angeles, California - December 18, 2001) Travelers this holiday season will find Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has reopened Parking Structure 6 and metered Parking Lots 3, 4, and 6 in the Central Terminal Area. Due to safety precautions following September 11, the metered parking in open-air lots across from the LAX passenger terminals were closed, as well as all spaces in Parking Structure 6.

LOS ANGELES AIRPORT TO REOPEN TERMINAL CURBSIDE TO PRIVATE VEHICLES
Los Angeles, California - December 13, 2001) Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials today announced that terminal curbside in the Central Terminal Area at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will reopen to private vehicles for passenger drop-off and pick-up at 5 a.m. on Saturday, December 15.

CONTRACT AWARDED FOR RESIDENTIAL SOUNDPROOFING IN SOUTH LOS ANGELES
(Van Nuys, California - December 4, 2001) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners tonight awarded Westcoast Nielson of Santa Fe Springs a contract for residential soundproofing near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The $1,259,000 contract will cover sound-insulation modifications on 41 single- and multi-family residences located within the noise-impacted area of Council District 8 in South Los Angeles.

BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVE PURCHASE OF AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS

(Van Nuys, California - December 4, 2001) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners tonight approved the purchase and installation of 50 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) as part of Los Angeles World Airports' (LAWA's) continued commitment to passenger safety. This action represents Phase I of LAWA's AED program with its implementation set for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for early 2002.

LAX MODIFES WESTBOUND CENTURY BOULEVARD ENTRY TODAY TO IMPROVE PRIVATE VEHICLE TRAFFIC ON UPPER/DEPARTURE LEVEL ROADWAY
(Los Angeles, California -- December 1, 2001) Los Angeles International Airport is modifying procedures today at its westbound Century Boulevard entryway in order to improve private vehicle traffic flow on the Upper/Departure Level roadway in the airport's Central Terminal Area. The changes take effect at 2 pm. No changes are being made to the current access procedures on the Lower/Arrival Level roadway.

CONTRACT EXTENDED FOR SOUNDPROOFING DESIGN AND CONSULTING SERVICES

(CSDA) of San Francisco to provide acoustic design and consulting services for 700 additional residential units that are expected to enroll in the LAWA Soundproofing Program during the coming year.

NOISE COMPLAINT FORM NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE FOR PUBLIC USE
(Los Angeles, California -- December 1, 2001) In an effort to enhance communication and cooperation between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and noise-impacted communities to achieve noise reduction whenever possible, residents may now go on-line to register aircraft-related noise complaints. This new service is in addition to the long-established LAX Noise Complaint Hotline at (310) 64-NOISE (646-6473).

(Los Angeles, California -- November 21, 2001) Los Angeles International Airport officials today released October passenger and air cargo statistics showing declines of 28.83 percent in passengers and 18.24 percent in air cargo tonnage compared to October 2000.

BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVES COLLECTION OF CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE FROM ON-AIRPORT RENTAL CAR COMPANIES TO COMPLY WITH CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY BILL 491
(Los Angeles, California -- November 13, 2001) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved the collection of a state-authorized Customer Facility Charge from rental car agencies serving Los Angeles International (LAX) and Ontario International (ONT) Airports. The action was taken in accordance with Assembly Bill (AB) 491, which allows airports in California to collect fees for the development of consolidated rental car facilities or consolidated ground transportation for airport rental car concessionaires. The bill is effective January 1, 2002.
